30 Minute Mastery: Thinking and Writing for Middle Schoolers

What makes good writing? How do we teach middle school or homeschool students how to write effectively while adhering to the skills they need to become accomplished in their task?

Writing is not just for the academic environment. It's a whole life skill. Where do we start teaching kids to connect what they know from the real world to their paper to convey meaning and establish effective communication strategies?

As a teacher for almost 2 decades of Resource room and Language Arts, as well as a nationally-published professional writer, I learned what works and what doesn't work for middle grades when it comes to reading and writing.

I have found that an eclectic approach that focuses on the learner (not the teacher), and one that allows kids to engage with reading what they want, we can hit them where they live. Using various media and high-interest technology tools, I have created a number of amazing language arts exercises and activities that will help you guide them toward mastery in the language arts.

Of course, this is just the beginning of the journey. Learning is a lifelong pursuit. But with this guide with detailed explanations on the core principles of both reception and expressive language arts techniques, you'll find it helpful as a homeschool parent or teacher.

These lessons are not meant to be an entire course or comprehensive program, but rather a series of 30-minute exercises that should be fun and engaging and inspire your child to learn more every single day.

This is just the first of many digital files to come on my site. I'm a former educator, now an entrepreneur and business owner and I want to share the very best of what I learned that works with challenged learners (and any student) who wants to succeed.
